Finding My Means – Week 6 Update
Hi friends! This week I changed things up a bit and recorded the update in a video. If you’re more of a read versus watch type person, I’ve done a quick summary below. This week is late again, because I am a human being who fails a lot. If there was a prize for “Best Faller-Downer”, I’d win, no contest. But I’d also like to think I’d win “Best Getter-Upper”, too. Here’s the video, with a recap afterward:
I need smaller goals that can be reached more quickly.
I need to meal plan.
I need to have better portion control, but also allow a treat/cheat (Treat Within Your Means, ha). This includes the cupcakes that I made for my son’s birthday this past weekend. Note: I ate more than one, in part to cope with the fact that out of 72 cupcakes (3 batches), only 8 of them were serve-able. You doubt? Here’s proof.
Next week’s update will include better SMART goals. By better I mean that in addition to the long-term goals I will have mini-goals that break up the time and also include some rewards for meeting those goals. For instance, I know that when I break the 200 pound mark, I will get Apple Airpods. But smaller goals might be a manicure at 10 pounds, a massage at 15 pounds, etc. I like rewards that include pampering, apparently.
I’ll also include updating on my Instagram Story, but not necessarily as the content for the weekly video update. I like talking to you directly in the videos, so I think I’ll stick with that format for a bit and see how it goes. Cool?
Starting Weight: 230.8 lbs.
Goal Weight: 140 lbs.
Previous Weight: 226.4 lbs.
Current Weight: 226.0 lbs.
Weight Change: -.4 lbs.
Total pounds lost: -4.8 lbs.
Weekly average: -.8 lb. per week (goal is 2 lbs.)
So, since Week 6’s update was late, and I have no intention of keeping that pattern going, Week 7 is going to follow in just a couple of days, but there will be a recipe in between (Spaghetti Squash Burrito Bowl, yum). I’m itching to get in some kind of routine, because life just works better when I do. And I apologize less for being late all the time, which is also nice.
Whatever it is you’re working towards, don’t give up! And if you fall down, I invite you to join me in the contest for Best Getter-Upper. Give me a run for my money. 🙂
See you soon!
